Honestly pretty nasty by itself, but feels like it has real potential in a mocktail if paired with the right things. Made one with Orleans bitters and a homemade cranberry-rosemary-black pepper shrub and really liked it. But it’s definitely a challenging taste to pair, so if you don’t fancy yourself a real mixologist, this is probably a no-go. It kinda smells like the alley behind a tchotchke store in Bombay, which overpowers everything else — mixed with lemon juice, that smell is almost completely suppressed.
Update: eventually gave up on this one and poured it down the drain. Couldn’t figure out a good mocktail to make with it, and it’s definitely not something to drink on its own.
