Light and refreshing and pretty beer-like, but just a little short of perfect — which is a fair description of the golden ale’s problem generally. There’s not much to the style beyond balance, so any shortfall in body shows up immediately. This is an easy, pleasant drink that doesn’t quite reach the standard Athletic set with Run Wild.
